Attention Bobcats.

Members of our staff will be participating in School Security Professional Development today, held specifically at the Central Elementary Campus. We want to reassure our families that this is a staff-only training; no students are currently located on the Central Elementary campus, and no students will be involved in or present for any of the exercises. While you may notice an increased presence of security personnel or vehicles in the area throughout the day, please be assured that this is a planned effort to ensure our team is prepared and our schools remain a safe environment for everyone. We appreciate your continued support as we invest in the safety of our students and community.

Dear Staff and Parents, Please be advised that both of our school campuses are currently experiencing a power outage. We have been in contact with Entergy, and they have informed us that they expect power to be fully restored by 12:00 PM today. At this time, school will remain in session. Our cafeteria teams are prepared, and we will continue to serve lunch as scheduled. The safety and comfort of our students and staff remain our top priority. If power has not been restored by noon, we will reassess the situation and provide a further update regarding the remainder of the school day. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we navigate this temporary inconvenience.

School Resumes Tuesday Corning Schools will be open and on a normal schedule tomorrow, Tuesday Feb. 3. Buses will run snow routes only and will not travel on roads that remain ice-covered. If you are unable to get your child to a bus stop or school due to ice, please call your child’s principal’s office to notify them. While most of our campuses are clear, some areas around town and on school grounds remain slick. Please use extreme caution whether you are driving or walking. We want to send a special thank you to the staff and volunteers who spent Monday helping us remove ice from our parking lots and sidewalks. Your hard work is the reason we will be able to safely greet our students tomorrow morning. We truly appreciate you!

Due to icy conditions, school will be closed Monday.Despite our best efforts to clear parking lots and roads around campus, surfaces remain very slick and unsafe for walking. In addition, many of our snow bus routes are still icy. The safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority. We will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as needed. Thank you for your understanding. Jennifer Woolard
